Currently lives and works near Newbury, Berkshire.

My paintings are based on my interest in the human form. I generally work from photos to provide a static image that I can interrogate, searching for a universal essence rather than trying to achieve a likeness. For me, the figures in the paintings could be anyone and everyone.  I am interested in placing figures in compositions that maintain a sense of ambiguity and often involve themes of looking and being looked at. I draw heavily on art history, appropriating and re-contextualising bodies and faces, looking for universal, timeless elements that can be re-presented in a contemporary, relevant context.
